I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! We are so thankful for the time off that we were able to spend with our own families and for all of the amazing food!
Michael and I are so fortunate to have both of our families so close to us and because of that we always end up having two big meals on Thanksgiving day. One at my Grandma’s house with my whole family and one at Michael’s parents home with his.
This year was no different logistically but the older I get the more I cherish the time that we are all together in one place.
Holidays are the main reason that I love to cook so much. Ever since I can remember we have had all major holiday dinners at my Grandma’s house.
The fact that food can bring together family who hasn’t seen each other all year warms my heart. We may have different jobs, hobbies, and lives but when it comes to food we all agree that my Grandma does it best!
This year I not only got to watch the master at work and jot down even more of her secrets but I also got to contribute to the dessert table! Being Thanksgiving, I wanted something rich and seasonal.
This Maple Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake with a Brown Sugar Graham Cracker Crust was just perfect. The cheesecake was so rich and creamy in and of itself but the maple pecan glaze and brown sugar crust are really what makes this cheesecake stand out!
I love to make cheesecakes because they are simple to make and this one is no different. Give it a try and get ready to blow people away (but make sure you save some for yourself too)!
“That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever!”
