Oh, to be a bride again! Michael and I often say that we would love to relive our special day if we could! I loved every part of being a bride… From the planning to the anticipation. Our day was an absolute dream! Now it is my little sister’s turn! Since she is getting married in April, I have three months to get back to wedding photo shape! Today I sat down and thought through the steps that I need to do to get to my end goal. Whether you are a bride to be, part of the wedding party, or just attending a wedding in the Spring, I hope that these tips can help you be your most confident self for the big day!
Commit to a Workout Plan
For me that means Kayla Itsines BBG! This is the perfect time to start since her programs are in 12 week increments. That puts me finishing week 12 the day before wedding weekend! I have gone through this program about three times over the last couple of years and nothing can beat it! I love circuit workouts and the fact that I am drenched in sweat post workout! As a girl who played basketball all the way through college, I enjoy these workouts so much. The jumps, squats, and cardio days remind me why I enjoyed basketball so much. I love the feeling of complete exhaustion and a drenched ponytail after a good workout! I love seeing and feeling my body change week after week. I have previously used the hard copy of the workouts, but this time I am going to give her SWEAT app a try! I will be sure to fill you all in as to how I like the app!
Lay off of the Carbs
Oh, my heart. I am a bread lover! It is no surprise that one of my top places to visit is France. I could put away the croissants and french bread with the best of them! When I say lay off, I don’t mean cut out completely. Goodness knows that when I decide to cut something out completely, it becomes the only thing on my mind and usually doesn’t last for more than a couple of days! I don’t plan to completely deprive myself of carbs, but definitely cut back. I am a pasta three times a week kind of girl, so that may need to change!
Water Water Water
This is one of my goals for the new year. By nature, I am not a big drinker. I don’t know why, I just don’t drink very much unless I force myself. That means sticky notes and phone reminders all around!
Saying No to Refined Sugar
This one should be fairly obvious. Avoiding prepackaged items, processed foods, candy, and sweets. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it! My skin will thank me for this one as well!
Speaking of skin! I recently read a blog post by Brooklyn Blonde on the benefits of Spearmint Tea for hormonal acne. The only time that I ever have breakouts these days I know is due to hormones so I am excited to be trying this! I have only been drinking it for about five days now, but I plan on doing a full blog post on my results as I give it a couple of months time!
Also on my list of goals for the new year! I had a massive breakthrough with this back in September-November of 2017. I even wrote this blog post on how to become an early morning person! I was crushing it and loving the way that it made me feel. Old habits do die hard I guess. Cold weather came along as well as holidays and I completely lost control over this situation! Well, I am taking back control! I have committed to rereading this post as many times as I need to in order to get back to that early morning, well rested lifestyle! My skin and body will thank myself coming wedding photo time!
Take my Vitamins
I am pretty good with this now that I have worked them into my daily routine. About a year or so ago, I decided to do some research on what types of vitamins I should be taking in my twenties (I guess turning 25 got me thinking)! I take a women’s multi vitamin, probiotic, one specialized for skin hair & nails, and one for skin hydration. I may add one or two more to the routine, I need to do some more research and do a full post on this topic soon!
Will you be following along on this 3 month bridesmaid/Spring break prep plan with me?!
