Tuesday Ten: Workwear Essentials
Pretty and polished… The two words that define my workwear style. I love playing with fashion and making each outfit my own, so why should I treat workwear any differently?! One of the most asked questions that I receive is how to make workwear less boring and mundane. My answer, it is anything but those things!
Workwear is all about finding key pieces that you can put your own unique spin on each time you wear them. And yes, you should be able to wear them multiple ways! Forget about being the repeat outfit offender. You should be able to mix and match your workwear pieces to get as much use as possible out of each of them.
One of my favorite shops for these types of pieces is LOFT. I love their modern updates to classic pieces. Today I’ve rounded up ten of my favorite LOFT workwear essentials. These pieces are so versatile, whether your workplace is business casual or professional!
Ten Workwear Staples
Dot Stripe Drape Sleeve Top – This top is perfect for a work setting. The square neckline is so flattering, while the drape sleeve is anything but mundane! Tucked, untucked, pant, skirt – There are so many options when it comes to this top!
Modern Trench Coat – The trench coat is such a timeless piece. If you don’t have one in your closet, it’s time! You will find yourself reaching for this chic coat over and over again as we head into the Spring. I especially love the hidden button front on this one!
Cap Toe Slingback Flats – I would argue that there is no more versatile shoe than a cream and black cap toe. This elegant flat can be worn so many ways! Dress it up with a black wrap dress or down with jeans and a white button up.
Statement Earring – How do I make workwear fun? A statement earring! If I had a work “uniform” it would be a simple fit and flare dress with a fun pair of statement earrings. Not only are earrings a great way to add your own unique style to an outfit, but also a great way to change up an outfit to wear multiple times. It is amazing how a great pair of earrings can changeup a whole outfit!
Black Blazer – The black blazer is such a classic piece and I love the sleek modern lines in this one. Go ahead and forget the antiquated idea that blazers are stuffy. There are many ways to wear them! If you are in a more casual work environment, they look so chic over a simple white t-shirt and jeans.
White Button Down – My opinion.. You can never own too many white button ups! I literally wear one at least once a week. They can go from casual to professional with one tuck!
Floral Tie Neck Flare Dress – Dresses are my staple when it comes to workwear. I love that you get pretty and polished all in one piece with a dress. When shopping for dresses, I look for classic silhouettes with the prettiest of details. Exactly like the lovely pattern and tie neck on this flare dress!
Wrap – Offices can be cold and from a girl who is always freezing this is a problem. While it may be unprofessional to bring your Snuggie to work, wraps are the perfect solution. Talk about chic – I love adding wraps to outfits even if I’m not cold!
Black Skirt – While a simple black skirt may seem boring, think about the options! Look back over the previous items listed… Every one of them (minus the dress) would pair perfectly with this classic piece. That is what I call an essential!
Stud Earring – One last accessory to finish off the list! A sparkly stud earring is exactly what you need for those outfits that already make a statement own their own. I especially love the blush tone of this pair!
A special thank you to LOFT for making this post possible! As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that make Going For Grace possible!
