Happy Easter weekend friends!

I hope that your weekend will be full of family, friends, and praise! With the previous Weekend Edit Q&A being such a hit, I thought we would continue on with five more questions that came my way this week. You can read the previous Q&A here. If you have a question to submit for next week just send it over to [email protected]!

Q&A

Q: What are your mascara and eyelash secrets?!

A: My current routine is, one coat of Bobbie Brown Eye Opening Mascara followed by two coats of the waterproof (because I tear up at least once a day due to some song or youtube video) Covergirl LashBlast Volume in very black. I do have a few “tricks” to get a full lash without the clump… When applying each coat don’t be heavy handed. Each coat will help you get those full lashes so no need to overdo the first few. Simply apply it as evenly and clump free as you can and then let it dry before you add the next. Another trick, especially with the Bobbie Brown, is to add one or two eye drops to your mascara tube before applying. This helps loosen up a drier mascara so it goes on clump free. I probably add one or two drops to my Bobbie Brown tube every three weeks and it lasts me for months! I often get asked if I use lash serums and I have before, but haven’t for probably a full year now. I had amazing results with the Rodan & Fields lash boost serum, but once I stopped using it my lashes went right back to my natural length. I’m not willing to pay the money for it when I already have longer lashes to start with, but if you are looking for a good serum Lash Boost is definitely worth the money for the results.

Q: What do you and your husband do for a living?

A: This question always gets asked so I thought it was a good time to finally answer! While having a blog does mean that I put a lot of myself out there for the world to see, I still am a pretty private person and like to keep the majority of our life off line. That’s why I rarely share much on the weekends or when Michael and I are together. I said from the start of GFG that I didn’t want social media to consume my life and I try to stick with this even if I have to remind myself of it at times. Long way of saying that this is probably why a lot of you wonder what we do… Because I have never actually shared it! What I will share for now is that my “day” job is in the banking world of commercial lending and Michael’s is in investments. Maybe one day I’ll go deeper!

Q: What are your current lip colors?! You always have the prettiest colors!

A: My Instagram friends will probably remember this, but I have long been obsessed with Bobbie Brown’s Luxe Lip Color. Right now I rotate between Parisian Red and Soft Berry, but I have my eye on Pink Cloud and Guava for summer!

Q: I’m going on a trip to Italy soon with my school. I must know what you would pack!

A: How much fun! Michael and I have been plotting for our first trip to Italy, so you better believe that I already have quite the list for you… A flowing white maxi will be a must for dinners or this one if you want to go full on Roman Holiday, this floral jumpsuit will look so chic while riding your vespa, the perfect dress for a full day of exploring, effortless mini dress, perfect skirt, this dress for more dreamy Italian nights, easy shirtdress, must have espadrilleschic sandals, perfectly sized tote, and the only pair of earrings you’ll need the whole trip. Clearly haven’t been thinking much about this, ha!

Q: I just got engaged and am so overwhelmed with what entertaining pieces to register for. What are your favorite places to shop for entertaining pieces and recommendations for our registry??

A: Ah congratulations!! The sites that I shop from religiously when pulling for entertaining posts are Williams Sonoma (anything Aerin!), Pottery Barn, Juliska, Anthropologie, Target, and World Market. I would say to get your basics covered with quality pieces from Williams Sonoma and Juliska and then fill in with more seasonal items at Target, Anthropologie, and World Market later on. Your style will really dictate which one of those shops work best for you, but if you like my style around GFG some timeless recommendations would be these basketweave placemats, you cannot go wrong with beautiful white dinnerware (also adore these blue edged scalloped plates), if you are a southern girl you will love this charming blue set for accent pieces, elegant two toned flatware, everyday glasses, linen double hemstitch napkins, a few serving platters, a cake stand, and my favorite julep vases. If you want to go the full custom route or simply add a few custom pieces in I highly recommend checking out Sasha Nicholas! I met the owner very briefly at a conference a few months ago and I have been obsessing over her products ever since!
